Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Academic qualifications: You must have at least a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or a Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) qualification in a relevant field.
Need to gain at least two years of electrical wiring experience, complete a recognized training program like the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 2 for single-phase or SKM Level 3 for three-phase and pass the competency examination to get a Wireman license from the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
Registration: Obtain a Construction Personnel Registration Card from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia.
Safety Certification: Complete a construction safety induction course, such as the Safety and Health Induction Course for Construction Workers (SICW).
