Heavy Machinery Operator

• Operation: Maneuvering and controlling heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, cranes, forklifts, and graders to move and position materials. 

• Maintenance and inspection: Conducting daily inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning of equipment to ensure it is in safe and optimal working condition. 

• Safety and quality control: Adhering to safety regulations, performing quality checks, and making adjustments to ensure work meets specifications and standards. 

• Material handling: Excavating, grading, and hauling materials like earth, rock, and gravel. 

• Communication: Communicating with supervisors about daily tasks, equipment status, and any issues or abnormalities. 

• Record keeping: Maintaining accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and incidents. 

For Malaysian Citizens:

• Age: Must be 18 years or older. 

• Academic qualifications: You must have at least a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or a Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) qualification in a relevant field. 

• A valid operator certification or license is required for many heavy machines, such as a Crane Operator Certification (CIDB, JKKP). 

• Specific training courses that include both theoretical and practical components are necessary to obtain competency certificates for machines like a backhoe. 

• Certifications are often specific to the type of machinery being operated, such as forklift, excavator, or crane. 

• Registration: Obtain a Construction Personnel Registration Card from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia. 

• Safety Certification: Complete a construction safety induction course, such as the Safety and Health Induction Course for Construction Workers (SICW). 

• Compliance: Comply with the laws and regulations set by CIDB. 

For Foreign Workers:

• Work Permit: You must have a passport with a valid work permit issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department. 

• Registration: Register as construction personnel and obtain a CIDB PKK Card. 

• Safety Certification: Complete the required safety induction course. 

• Experience: Some roles may require prior working experience (e.g., at least six months for certain assessments).
