Involved in the initial planning stages, ensuring the project is feasible, cost-effective, and structurally sound.
Monitor the construction process to ensure that structures are built according to the design plans and safety standards.
A major responsibility is ensuring that all designs and structures meet relevant building codes, legal regulations, and safety standards.
Work closely with architects, other engineers (MEP engineers), and contractors to achieve the final design and construction.
Evaluate risks such as earthquakes, wind, and floods to design structures that can resist these forces.
Assess the integrity of existing structures, identify problems, and recommend necessary repairs or modifications.
Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and reports for projects.
Skills And Knowledge Required
Skills And Knowledge Required
Accredited Degree in Civil Engineering from recognised instituition of higher learning and registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia.
Priority is given to candidates with at least (10) years of proven related experienced with minimum of 3-5 years in a civil engineering role.
Sound knowledge and evidenced experience in the planning and coordination of projects with various level of complexity.
Experience in utilizing engineering software such as MX Road, Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAd and Microsoft Excel will be an added advantage.
Expertise in structural analysis and calculations is a fundamental requirement.
Competence in designing reinforced concrete and steel according to relevant codes, such as British Standards (BS) or Eurocodes, is essential.
Excellent client-facing, communication and negotiations skills and is able to work well with various level of stakeholders.
Strong command of Bahasa Melayu and English, both written and spoken, and is able to develop effective reports and presentations.
Ability to recommend preventive and corrective actions to address potential risk i.e project delays, challenges and issues for development of project schedules.
Ability to develop effective methods to track project and financial project progress for various projects at a time.
